Ability Gives - Tiago

Tiago is a happy young non-verbal lad who has suffered from epilepsy for the bulk of his life. He’s one of about 250 kids diagnosed with STXBP1 gene deletion. Tiago requires supervision at all times. Tiago isn’t able to run like other children his age. He is able to walk short distances. Tiago has a special transportation stroller to ensure he gets to and from school safely.
He was diagnosed with global development delay making some of his fine motor skills weak. He requires help at feeding time. His gross motor skills are below average for his age as well. Tiago needs an adapted bike so that he can strengthen his leg muscles, but more importantly, so he can be out with other children. These bikes are very expensive because they are built specifically for the child who will be riding it, and often needs many modifications to keep the child safely on the bike. With your support, we can make it possible for this little boy to improve his gross motor skills, strength, and inclusion with his peers!
Thank you!

And here is a new video on why you should join Ability Online!

SCREENCAPS

This month we have 358 screencaps from the MOTIVE episode Natural Selection. Find out why this one in the ODDS & ENDS section below!

The episode also stood out because it introduced the audience to LARP (Live Action Role Playing), and thus to an unusual murder weapon. Furthermore it shows a major turning point in Oscar Vega's career.

The B&E Podcast #104: “Making a Show When You’ve Never Made a Show” with Banerd & Poague

SUMMARY OF THE PODCAST:
With actor/filmmakers Eric Banerd and Sean Poague, we dive into the trials and joys of producing a new type of work for the first time. Often it means having to make certain compromises and accepting certain limitations but sticking to where it counts.

POINT #1: “BRING YOUR FRIENDS!”
- When our budgets and contacts are limited, we go to what we got and that means friends and family. They may help you out and be very talented, but make sure that they have accountability for the job they’ve been brought on to do. Don’t be afraid to communicate when they’re not meeting their end — this is your baby after all!

POINT #2: “JUST DO IT”
- It works for a big shoe company, why not for budding filmmakers and artists? Don’t get too caught up in making it perfect or precious. Work with what you have, bring your best, and bring your passion. You’ll learn, grow and get better.

POINT #3: “LET PEOPLE IN”
- When you have friends and people coming in working for nothing or next to nothing, it’s very easy for responsibility to slip. One way to avoid this is to make sure you communicate your passion to everyone you bring in. Express why you’re doing this, the messages your telling, and why that’s important and you’ll find the people around you injecting their best efforts and talents as a result.
