Ability Gives - Keanan

Ability Gives is currently raising funds for Keanan. Read more about him here.

"My name is Keanan and I have cerebral palsy which wasn’t diagnosed until I was a year old.

I am a very independent little man, and I am more than happy to share my laughter, joy, smiles and peace of happiness with you and others. I am learning how to paint, write, stick stickers and point to objects (e.g. a book that I would like to hear or from someone who will be reading too me, snack, apple juice or orange juice etc), and learning to make hand-over-hand movements.

Although I have GMFCS and Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy, that limits me from most daily activities and personal independence such as self-feeding, being able to dress and undress myself, I am also a very independent little guy in my very own unique and special way.

The Hi/Low Rifton Medium Chair 850 has many great features. It will allow me to stay at low floor level in a nice upright sitting position, and with a tilt-in-space along with a tray. This amazing chair will allow me to stand at 15° forward and 25° back, with a built-in Swivel Lock. The swivel lock will stop my chair from moving side-to-side when it is being pushed forward by someone. The chair will also allow me to spend time with my Mommy and family at the dinner table and it will grow with me throughout the next couple of years.

These chairs are very expensive and my mommy can’t afford it. We really need your support.

Thank you for reading my amazing story and being super helpful!"

BAD BLOOD

Louis has been cast as Domenic Cosoleto in Season 2 of the Canadian City TV series Bad Blood (not to be confused with the family drama of the same name on Investigation Discovery).

Storyline of Season 1:
A story of family, loyalty, deceit, power, greed, and ultimately revenge. Montreal Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto is a criminal anomaly. Determined to bring peace to the disparate wings of the Montreal crime world of the day, Rizzuto successfully unifies them, serving as a de facto CEO while ensuring a lucrative payday for all. When Rizzuto is suddenly arrested and extradited to Colorado's Supermax Prison for the 1981 murders of three Bonanno crime family members, the powerful empire he built begins to crumble. Rizzuto watches helplessly until his release from prison in October 2012, when a Shakespearean tale of revenge begins to unfold.

Filming is almost complete; Louis has a few more days on set left in Sudbury and Montreal. The last time Louis got to work in Montreal was during the filming of This Life, and he enjoyed the city very much.

Here are the details from TV-eh.com.

With cameras now rolling on eight all-new 60-minute episodes of the critically acclaimed original drama Bad Blood, City announced today Season 2 casting for the series’ highly anticipated return this fall. Star Kim Coates reprises his role as Canada’s favourite multifaceted mobster, Declan Gardiner, helming a dynamic new ensemble cast, featuring Louis Ferreira (Breaking Bad, S.W.A.T.), Anna Hopkins (Shadow Hunters), and Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp).

Season 2 picks up five years after Rizzuto’s death and his former right-hand man, Declan Gardiner (Coates), is the reigning king of the Montreal drug trade – that is, until a new breed of mafiosos arrive from Europe to wage war in an attempt to wrestle the city from his grasp. Declan comes up against rivals, both old and new, who want to start dealing more dangerous substances; meanwhile, the Organized Crime Task Force gets ready to take everyone down with the help of a confidential informant. Although he prefers to work alone, Declan soon realizes that, in order to remain on top, he’ll need to enlist some help.

Ready to go to war with Declan are his enemies, Hamilton’s Cosoleto brothers, Domenic (Ferreira) and Enzo (Daniel Kash, In Contempt, The Strain), and their sons, Luca (Franco Lo Presti, Letterkenny, Schitt’s Creek) and Nats (Dylan Taylor, Rogue, Covert Affairs).

On the opposite side of the law is a Senior Agent in the Organized Crime Task Force, Nellie Bullock (Lisa Berry, 19-2, Supernatural), who is working her confidential informant, Nats’s wife, Valentina Cosoleto (Scrofano). But things turn explosive when Declan refuses an offer to partner with the imported power duo and sultry Langana twin siblings, Teresa (Hopkins) and Christian (newcomer Gianni Falcone). Left with no other choice, Declan looks to partner with an unlikely ally, Rose Sunwind (Sharon Taylor, Bellevue, Ghost Wars), and feels obliged to take a friend from his past, Reggie Ross (Ryan McDonald, Fringe), under his wing.

Bad Blood is produced in partnership with New Metric Media and Sphère Média Plus, in association with distributors DHX Media and Skyvision, and with the financial participation of confirmed partners, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, the Independent Production Fund, and the Canada Media Fund. Executive producers are Mark Montefiore (Letterkenny, What Would Sal Do) for New Metric Media and Josée Vallée (19-2, This Life) for Sphère Média Plus. Michael Konyves (Barney’s Version, Last Knights), who received a CSA nomination for Best Writing, Drama or Limited Series, returns as showrunner. Kim Coates also serves as producer and received a CSA nomination for Best Lead Actor, Drama or Limited Series, for his role in Season 1. Paula J. Smith (Blood and Water, The Beaverton) is Supervising Producer. Directors include Jeff Renfroe (Cardinal, Rogue) and Molly McGlynn (Mary Goes Round, Working Moms).

Filming is taking place in both Sudbury and Montreal, and surrounding areas. Additional broadcast details will be announced at a later date.

Here are more press releases. Stay tuned for information on air dates!

SCREENCAPS

This month we have 583 caps from the Motive Season 2 episode Overboard.

The Plot:
The killer: Damian Cutter. The victim: Alicia Barclay. Her dead body is found washed up on the beach one morning. Although Betty is able to determine that Alicia did die from drowning, she also believes that Alicia was unconscious when she entered the water. The Homicide detectives discover that Alicia, who was still wearing a cocktail dress, was on a yacht party the previous night, which she organized with Meredith Taylor, the two being the wives of Peter Barclay and Kurt Taylor respectively, the two men who had just purchased the multimillion dollar yacht and who are business partners in a lucrative online gaming venture. They discover an interesting web of one-on-one relationships between the four of Alicia, Peter, Meredith and Kurt, which implicates each of the three still alive as Alicia's possible killer at various times during the investigation. They will have to dig deeper into the alibis of the three, specifically concerning a Cal Higgs, who worked the party for the catering company, to find the real killer and his motive.

The episode also includes two of Louis' former co-stars: Julie McNiven, who played Ginn in Stargate Universe, and Niall Matter who appeared as Evan Cross in Primeval: New World.

Jen's new series The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco is set to launch in July on BritBox TV - stay tuned for details!

The series is a spin-off of the popular ITV series about an elite unit of female code-breakers who reunite after the war to solve crimes. The spin-off takes place in the United States in 1956; Spence’s character is Olivia Mori, a Japanese American codebreaker whose family was interned during the war.

Jen was featured in a recent article in the Vancouver Courier, as she explored a sad aspect of her roots. She visited Hastings Park with Courier photographer Dan Toulgoet  to shoot in and around the buildings where her great-grandmother, grandmother, and great aunts were housed before being sent to an internment camp in Tashmie, B.C.
Jen’s relatives were among the 22,000 Canadian citizens and residents uprooted from their lives, stripped of their belongings and jobs, and crammed into internment camps far from the West Coast.

Rob Munic

Rob shared his story of how he met Michael J. Fox:
There was that one time when I thought I was starring in a film with Michael J. Fox and I kept blowing his takes by “improvising” my own dialogue in the middle of his scene. This scene had to be shot before a huge Fabulous Thunderbirds concert which was to also be shot that night - and there was a massive blizzard happening outside. I took it upon myself to blow a few more of his takes - only to surprisingly be fired. Upon my dismissal from set, another background performer with lofty aspirations mouthed off to my hero Michael J in front of everyone. That was a mistake and I put that dude in his place, coming to the side of my man Michael J. As I was walking away, Michael J asked what I was doing the rest of the night - I reminded him I was fired, he said “No, you’re not. Come with me."
We grabbed a Marlboro together and then he led me to the concert scene where I got to be his stand in for the rest of the night. That moment led me to this life. Thanks again Michael J. Fox for taking this young asshole aside and showing him kindness. You pointed this ship in the right direction.
